Everywhere I look
I see posters telling me
What I want, what I like,
Who I am and who I want to be.
Sometimes I look away,
Sometimes I buy into their story.
They talk about free will
And our right to choose
From the options they have
Laid out in front of us.
I keep my head in my back pocket
And take my pick with pride.
I talk about doing it My Way,
There were never any chains.
Just the sound of a magic pipe
I followed the piper like those rats
Because I wanted to. Right?
Aren’t we all free
To fly inside a box?

Very well written and thought provoking! The inspiration is also a good read, but your own interpretation of it definitely speaks more to me with the way you have written it 😊

Indeed we are all free… but when the pied-piper controls most of all we can access for information they can indeed make that leap off the cliff appear inviting.
