I might have stopped needing you
Your attention, your time, to love you
Honestly, that’s a liberating feeling,
But it’s not because I love you less
It’s because I am teaching my heart
To need less and love more,
It’s because I love you much more freely
Than I did before, then I could before.

You could say I am a poetess
I could write a poem that’s sweet
That doesn’t mean I truly miss you
But let me ask you this
Who do you think I think of
When I write a poem on love
You know it’s you, only you
All of them are about you
How could I not miss you then?
