When a heart turns numb and love is gone
No electricity to light up the darkness
No heat to keep you warm at nights
Tears won’t soften a heart like that
Smiles will stir no feelings in it
No words you can speak
No songs you can sing
No apologies you make
No flowers you can bring
That will bring back from grave
The love that has died
It’s water to a plant
That has already dried
It’s food to a child
Who has starved and died
It’s irrelevant.
Tell me why?
Why must you try?
Why, now?

yes….starved and died….though sometimes….the love can be brought back from the grave….where it has died….

I would like to think that, that’s a good thought to hold…but tell me…
Are you sure that love had died or was it just in coma? 😉

hahaha….if you believe in re-birth….than it can really come out from the grave and enchant….else we need to medically declare it in coma….additionally when it gets a terrible hit…it may go to coma….

I like this. It describes me. And I’m not ashamed. I don’t need love from any man because I’m content living without one. My grandkids have all my love now 🙂

The power of your writing asks so many questions in the mind and at the same time the expresses on love gone or perhaps unfulfilled desires. Keep the flame burning my love for hope and dreams keep us going 🙂

Nice! Sorry – editor hat on again and noticed more errors (forgive me!): ‘has dies’ should be ‘has died’ and starve is missing a letter. 😀

Thanks 😀
I will have to proof read things more carefully than I do these days.

Trust me – we’re all blind to our own errors! I do this for a living and STILL miss my own mistakes! 😀

I guess when we write or read our own work we sometimes see on the paper what’s in our head. 😀

Exactly. It’s a well-known phenomenon all over the world. You’ll be glad to know I pick up in such errors even in top-notch publications and The Guardian and BBC. We all mess it up ☺️ At least on a blog you can correct it!

Not silly at all! It’s a good showcase both for your work and who you are as a person. Both are important 😊
