These are superficial wounds,
The wounds inflicted by the world
Wounds of time and monetary losses
Wounds given by loved one who left
Or stayed but didn’t quite love us right
All superficial wounds.
Nothing skin deep, all flesh wounds,
For the wounds that come from outside
Never really go too deep.
It’s the wounds that comes from inside
The wounds of sorrow and regret,
The wounds of self hatred
That does the real damage to a man.
It’s the wounds that we give ourselves
To match the wounds of the world
That really hurt us,
That kill us.

Beautiful and very thought provoking. Good thing is that we’re sort of safe when surrounded by good friends who take the trouble of guiding us when we wander aimlessly. Thank you

that’s true, we have to cure the inner wounds and the outer world won’t make them either

Exactly. And neither can we measure the damage just by seeing the superficial wounds we have to look deeper. 🙂
