Sushiology! Study Of Sushi.

No poetry today. Today we will talk about the best Japanese invention ever, Sushi!!! I am no Sushi expert but I am a Susi lover. Susi is on my list of foods that I call Day Changers, the kind of food that has the power to change a bad day into a good one. I mean after a long day of stubbing my toe, dropping my things, falling on my face, getting late everywhere, pointless arguments with cab drivers and cancellations of long-awaited plans, I could go to a good sushi place for dinner and come back home a happy woman. Day Changer! 🙂

Today I woke up and decided to educate my self about Sushi as thoroughly as possible. I can’t tell why I have no Sushi plans in near future but what I can tell you is everything you need to know about Sushi. Continue reading “Sushiology! Study Of Sushi.”

Recipe For Your 1st Book

So, I have decided to write a book! It wouldn’t exactly be my first because I have written one before but it was a birthday present for someone who has been a huge inspiration. I got only two copies of it made, let’s just say all the copies were booked even before the book was launched and it was very well received by its target audience.  😉

Now I have decided to write my 1st book for the world, and I am really excited and also scared about it. This post is as much for me as it is for anyone who has been thinking about writing a book. Please know that I am a novice, and this post is based on very little experience and a lot of research. Feel free to correct me or leave me more tips on writing a book. I would really appreciate it! Continue reading “Recipe For Your 1st Book”

Self Worth – How Not to Measure It

Girl Before A Mirror by Pablo Picasso

I have recently come to realize something about self-worth and after reading many posts, Articles and feedback from different people, I realized one more thing, “how important it is to share the thing I realized with the world”.

As it appears there is something really wrong about how people measure their self-worth, me being one of them not so long ago. So, I share with you the ways in which you should definitely NOT measure it :

My Story On The Secret Website

We have all tried to understand the effect of positive thinking and law of attraction since the movie “The Secret” came out. Over a period of time, I have developed my own understanding of it. Nine months ago, while I was traveling through Rajasthan, I was sitting on the window of an old fort in Udaipur, looking at an aerial view of the valley and the little houses there, contemplating my approach to life. The sun started to set and I felt a calm sweep over me as I looked at the crimson sky,  I realised a couple of things that day. Continue reading “My Story On The Secret Website”

Let’s Save The Humanity Left In Us

I read a terrible news in a news portal today, it painted a horrid picture of what monstrous deeds humanity is capable of, and not for a cause, not for their beliefs and miss believes but just for their own selfish sadistic pleasures. I was feeling deeply disturbed and enraged to the point that I felt my faith in humanity diminishing, but then I came across a post on Facebook shared by a friend, that restored all my faith in humanity again.

He had shared a link requesting contributions on behalf of his ex-colleague and mentor Anurag Bhatnagar whose wife, Puja has to undergo an urgent liver transplant and is currently admitted at Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi.

When I Met Maheshmurti Leni Sahebrao Jadhav (Leni)

Maheshmurti Leni Sahebrao Jadhav (Leni)

Sometimes we meet someone, a complete stranger and something good happens, we feel lighter and more cheerful, almost hopeful, in their presence. Meeting Leni is very much like that, just by being around her, you feel good, positive. She has this infectious cheerful energy but that energy does not come from innocence or naivety. After only a few conversations, you can tell, she has seen the ugly unkindness of life and you can tell, she has stayed strong through it all. It’s so great meeting people who have been tested by life a number of times, but life has still not managed to rob them of their energy or dim their light.

Road Less Traveled By

IMG_2282

10 months ago I left a position of marketing manager at a luxury sports travel company where I was heading marketing for North India and I took a travel break.

I always wanted to travel, but I always had reasons to postpone it. I decided I can’t keep waiting for life to hold my hand and take me on adventures. When I first realized that I want to quit my job and decided to take a break and travel before I start looking for another one, my friends told me how it is a huge career risk. In India we don’t appreciate career breaks, they were right, we don’t. Did I want a life in which I had never taken any risks or a career that was at best, safe? NO. I served my notice period, saved some money and started my journey. Continue reading “Road Less Traveled By”
