Wormhole

c0a3e014f6fbed0d4ef3bac5605bf0b6--conceptual-photography-contemporary-photography

The constant lump in my throat
Is heavier tonight,
And an emptiness so chaotic
It numbs my mind
But it’s not peaceful,
It’s like that dark night
Where you see nothing
But you are constantly scared.
Like something bad has happened
And you have gone numb from shock,
It’s all a blank but full of fear,
Fear of snapping out of the shock
And feeling the pain,

Hamster Wheel

Leaders with their theatrical smiles,
Cloaked eyes and mechanical voice,
Renegades and their muffled noise
Saying something,
Unveiling something.

Sorry! too busy to look up,
Too busy to rise.

Always something important to do
In our important fast paced lives ,
So we keep running in circles
Like a hamster running on a hamster wheel,
Continue reading “Hamster Wheel”

Our Own Ringmasters

dc2c3eb73c4aee1bdd054fdf7348408f

You can get rid of a lot
But not the beast that lives inside,
We all have that side,
We all live with it still inside.
No one gets rid of it
Neither should you try to
For it often protects you,
But it can destroy you too
If it fails to learn the difference
Between the two.

Is Someone There?

96d41de7ed8a856101ad3f58c9542a7d--lee-jeffries-john-doe

He looked up at the sky and prayed

To whatever they pray to
Hoping there is something to believe in,
Hoping there is someone listening
Because he can’t be on his own anymore,
He couldn’t do it alone anymore.
He needed to share the burdens of his soul,
With someone who can handle it.

“Whoever you are, whatever you are
Do you think you can handle it?” He asked. Continue reading “Is Someone There?”

Superficial Wounds

These are superficial wounds,
The wounds inflicted by the world
Wounds of time and monetary losses
Wounds given by loved one who left
Or stayed but didn’t quite love us right
All superficial wounds.
Nothing skin deep, all flesh wounds,
For the wounds that come from outside
Never really go too deep.

A Snowy Day

Little pieces of clouds
Falling from the sky
Covering all I see In a
white blanket of snow.

As I see from the window
The valley turns white
Like a blank canvas,
The world a blank page.

Tigeress Of A Circus

e9b1c3a935846ee7d2e7a199ace4336d--tiger-eyes-cat-eyes

He was her saviour
He rescued her when she was but a cub
Now he rescues her from her dreams
Whipping wisdom in her back,
Dreams too big, crack too loud
The world is watching
He had to please the crowd.

He blows his whistle
She jumps the hoop
Runs through fire
Every night
Her roars sending a chill
Through everyone’s spine
A well-choreographed performance
For the crowd.

The Person

Maybe it was you
Or it was the time
Maybe it was just chance
But for whatever reason
I have chosen you

To be the thing,
The cause, the person
I will destroy myself
In the name of

Why Now?

53b1d2564c9d2558c7ff1fecbec508c7--fantasy-photography-conceptual-photography
When a heart turns numb and love is gone
No electricity to light up the darkness
No heat to keep you warm at nights
Tears won’t soften a heart like that
Smiles will stir no feelings in it
No words you can speak
No songs you can sing
No apologies you make
No flowers you can bring
