I pull her back,
I push her away,
She surfaces slowly
When I am looking away.
I push her up
Then drag her down
leave her hurting
On the ground.
Fire can’t burn
That which is already ablaze.
How do you destroy
That which rises from the ashes,
like a phoenix made of flames?
It’s those who want to change the world
To their idea of better,
That are keeping it from becoming better.
Change will not come from a revolutionary leader
Who wants to make the world as he is.
Change will not come from
A place of power or influence.
It will come from the masses.
